I think i'll change his pose tomorrow. This is too boring. And looks stiff. Can't paint this. Also tomorrow i'll take some reference picture for the face XD. Lifesize flat 176cm Aiba-chan is fun to paint yay~ especially......i found out Spitz music is so great to listen while painting.....while walking too. :o
Maybe i'll paint a backside too. Need to think about how to cut this out. The wood is very thin though~ old cupboard wood lols...
Our neighbor thought it's my brother XDDD.
Yosh, here is the summary of what i've been doodling, drawing, painting in December with the topic "Masaki Aiba". I can only recommend, draw everyday (if you are an artist person), no matter what topic you take. It will teach you alot :>
Unlike in Satoshi-month this time every picture was made with reference
from magazine photos (except the 24th drawing - from memory :>). I
already forgot how easy it is to draw with reference XD. So, people,
draw without reference!!!! It will teach you alot too XD!!!!
Hopefully you enjoyed this hectic month ^_~.
Thank you Masaki for lending me your face for my drawing practise!!! :D
Anna
This is the first time in this month i draw Masaki from memory. For his birthday ^_^.
How to make it:
-->take pretty blue snowflake transparent paper
-->make a sketch onto normal paper
-->put the transparent paper onto the sketch and copy the lines onto the transparent paper
-->color the lines with turquoise drawing ink (brush)
-->and outline it again with red drawing ink (drawing pen)
-->good luck ^_~
I saved this beautiful paper for this moment kekeke ^_~. たんじょうび おめでとう, まさき ^-^)
Merry Christmas to my friends :>
Yeah, so after being extremely self-reflecting yesterday and interpreting art and thinking about stuff i couldn't switch from interpreting mode to intuitive mode =_=. So i went online again lol (Danke, Zoé <3), and afterwards i could draw again......So don't think i create a picture while thinking about all that stuff XD.
I'm not so sure about the outcome. But nevermind.
Tutorial for watercolor ála Anna~
Credits to the uploader, i love you uploader, this is one of the prettiest pictures you could ever have scanned *hugs uploader*
*kyaa i have same hair color as Masaki XD*
Step 1
Make a sketch on your paper. Don't use a soft pencil, a hard one is better. Because you shoud use not so many lines since they'd smear afterwards. So don't press with your pencil onto the paper okay.
Please use proper watercolor paper, or at least paper which doesn't suck all the water into it immediately, because then my technique doesn't work and in general the color won't automatically form interesting color shapes. Please use hard paper. I recommend it :x, even for practise. There is also cheap watercolor paper and you don't have to buy the Din A2 pad in first place.
Step 2
This is kind of......you don't have to do this step. But i'm used to it, you know, comic-influence and stuff :x. I use black ink (Scriptol) for my outlines. I guess you can also use colored ink if you want to have colored outlines for some reason ^_^. Um yah, use a drawing pen xD.
Yeah, a tip for you is maybe to use thicker lines for objects in the foreground and use tiny lines for small details and so on. Actually i outline in the same way as i sketch; the only difference is, i already know where are the "right lines" because i already made the sketch. If you are brave, simply sketch with drawing ink =D. Will be a good practise.
Don't erase the sketch lines o_O.
Step 3
Take your watercolor and brush, and by using much water (so the colors are very liquid and light) you put the color simply onto the paper.
Um, i hope you understand my English lols. The most stuff i explain in this video. So watch it ^_~. (And don't be shocked how i sound because i'm kind of lacking sunshine power =_=.)
Maybe to sum it all up: Use much water, because the color will have a bigger drying time and you have more time to edit the colors without smearing. Don't use a color only in one part of the picture. Either use it again somewhere else or mix it with another color, but it should be found somewhere else. This is kind of the same as with the colored pencils. And don't only use some colors but mix them, and for example use complementary colors a) for grounding and b) for shading, like green shades for skin color.
Also i have a handkerchief to suck the color away when it was too much (yeah, the use of much water is sort of crucial for me).
Um, but for the coloring process in general.....i won't explain it, since it has more to do with intuition than with tutorial @_@. Just practise and never give up. Be spontaneous. I can't give you better advice. Give up the fear to mess it up ((c) a concept artist whose name i forgot). And don't feel bad when the picture looks bad while it's still in process. Because that's normal XD.
Typical for me is also just pretend to hit the paper and spread color dots onto the paper....something like that. Overcome your shyness XD. Throw the color onto the paper. If you aim correctly, it will look good lol. Adventure.
Step 4
Add highlights with a white pen, with correction fluid, white acrylics......something like that. Highlight lips, cheeks, nose, hair, and whereelse you wish to have highlights, for example the glass of juice <3.
Yo, and because the food is still warm, i add something like steam to it with my fingertips ^_^.
Uhm i guess i'm finished ^_^. I hope this is kind of useful to some of you.....though there are no big secrets how to make it for my techniques. Maybe the only secret ingredients are practise/experience (if you take the technical skill), enthusiasm (if you take the expression), and spontaneity o_O. Just be yourself and don't fear the outcome.
Yuck i have to finish building my portfolio :x (thus, you will get a tutorial on how to make one too)
I feel sorry i couldn't draw his legs/feet properly. So he looks kind of leaning to the front. This for the technical issues in this picture.
I rewatched Kiiroi Namida again just now and i think i understood it now, though it didn't hit me oO. This is one of the sentences in the movie which caught my attention. It's the same like "after a vulcano spilled his fire it's nothing more than a mountain", or something like that. I forgot the o-tone :x.
Don't panick. I won't discuss about this. But. I want you to know that i'm extremely happy how this movie deals with "love". Because it's so subtle and pure like water. Like in honey and clover, the only "erotic element" is a kiss lol. THANK YOU JSTORM XD. *applauds* Because usually the movies are not so friendly to give the decision to the audience whether they want to see it or not.
I mean, i don't.
Leave me alone with it.
Because sex is everywhere in the media and you can tell i'm hella sick of it. :x
It doesn't even mean anything anymore, does it?
I'm sick of it. And no matter why i am, please leave me alone. I don't want to see them kiss (Ohmiya i hate you), i don't want to watch them posing in the rain in wet clothes; i dont want hot photos, i don't want have them to breathe near my ear through the headphones. :x
And if i will read it here (in my vox) that the impression my drawings cause is "sexy" or something like that. I will go abstract, i tell you. Because i don't draw in ecstasy. So there's no need to see something in my drawings. Then go and watch the photos you downloaded, but then don't look at my drawings. I'm sorry to be so harsh now.
I feel like my brothers are being watched by girls, or like my sons selling their "sexy" images (isn't it prostitution afterall?). :x
Yes i'm making a fuss. But i'm sick of it.
By the way, i'm not angry at anyone who might have said it as a comment now, but i'm angry at myself drawing these pictures. HONTOU NI ^_^.
Sarted yesterday in school when we were having breakfast together in school...we watched a very ....lol movie. Well i won't talk about it xD. Since the most time i was looking at my sketchbook anyway. (You can call me either bitchy or "person with attitude".)
Actually the picture was cute because you could see his belly button lols, demo.............after i was extremely annoyed with the ...erotic scenes :x (we watched two movies that morning actually...), i decided to hide the belly button :x
I feel like a worried mother. Really.
The eyes are slightly too small :x but i noticed it too late. So what. And maybe i should have better made this today after school because i was in a rush yesterday to finish it and then learn for maths test. (Yeah my priorities are the best lols.) But it will do for a tutorial.
Take this as a early Christmas gift for those who like to draw :D....
Though this technique doesn't really work best with cheap pencils. You'll see a good result if you take Polychromos (=quality colored pencils). Because they dont smear and you can mix them properly i think. So.
Tutorial~(colored pencils)
Let's say we take this wonderful concert photo of Masaki Aiba as reference ^__^. Thanks for scanning, whoever i have this from.
Step 1
Always begin with the lightest colors and mix the actual colors by adding darker and darker ones. So after i made my outlines with one color, i put the first layers onto the paper. For example my grounding for skin color is a light yellow. I may add a darker yellow, orange.......DO NOT PRESS ONTO THE PAPER :x it should NOT look polished. Because then you can't mix the colors.
Oh and actually you should make as small drawing movements as possible (yes you will need days). If you're using this technique properly you can have brilliant results; everything will look neat and realistic. (But i have no patience now *bad example* :x)
Step 2
This is just adding some more darker warm tones to the skin color; putting red tones onto the lips; make a grounding of the same yellow as used in skin color, but for the dark background and for the blue jacket. Because to make the picture look more "as a whole", you should use the same colors everywhere, just mix them differently. At least take one color and use it everywhere in the picture, this will do. :>
Also i put the yellow onto the teeth lols and the white shirt. Because only white extremely stands out (but maybe this is your intention).
Step 3
Here i already took a darker brown (NEVER USE BLACK OR WHITE) (i made it wrong lol afterwards) to outline the characteristic facial outlines. For example the eyes. (With the eyes it works analogue btw...from light to dark.)
But also here....don't press hardly onto the paper. I still make it wrong, so don't take me as your example xD. The structure of the paper should be still visible and the color should appear like.....very subtle. You know what i mean.
Step 4
Here comes the adventurous part, i guess. Add green to the skin color. :> Yesh, skin color has green and blue tones. You don't have to exaggerate like me though. Maybe first add a yellowish green, then a darker one for the shades especially. But don't just add green to the shade areas but to the whole facial area. Remember, it will look uniform/harmonic or however you may call it.
You can also add some green to the lips btw. And what's also nice, you can put the green tone you're working with also into other parts, like the background.....because the more you work with same palette, the more uniform it will be i guess.
Step 5-7
This time i use green as a grounding for the hair. And actually.....the next steps consist of the same step, just different color tones put onto each other. First it's an olive green, then i took a light brown, then a darker one. With the darker brown i also structured his hair a bit.

Step 8
Because the hair was looking kind of too light, i decided to add a dark red to it. This red can also be used again for another layer for the lips i think....
By the way, this mix of colors is not universal. If you don't like greenish hair, make it blueish; or even better, look at your photo (if you have one) and decide by what colors you see. And for mixing the right colors.....don't start drawing a picture from the scratch. It's useful to practise first. For example try to mix skin colour on a practise-paper. :>
Step 9
So now i begin with the jacket and the background. They both get a light blue grounding. But to make them different from each other i use different second layers. For the jacket it's a medium blue and for the background a dark blue.
Also i support the light from the back when i put yellow outlines to the whole head and shoulders (lol).
Step 10
Because i think the blue is too strong and doesn't really fit there, i decide to put another layer onto it. Olive green for the background and red for the jacket (so it looks kind of violet).

This is my personal favourite one for now. :> Tried out Polychromos first time :D..But i guess it looks like wasting them if you watch my technique :x. Though i could make it neat if i wanted (i slightly know the techniques.....)..demo.....it would lose the feel O_O.
Aw Aiba-chan loves animals deshou <3.
And vice versa ^_~.
Looks like i didn't go to bed earlier nevertheless @Zaizaiaddict lols. It's 10pm. But i don't feel tired anymore.:)
Tomorrow drawing course yoshhhhh :DDDDD topic: color pencils ^__^)))
So i already posted for tomorrow....gonna have to read some stuff for semi-important English test on Wednesday :x
(by the way, seems like i have the best Biology-mark in class...in the test i've written about one week ago....10/15 points ^_^;....demo the test was really hard and average mark is 6/15 ._. looks like university qualification should be not a big deal for me @______@? I suck at Biology/science btw XD....)
